TALO Awarded First Residential Project for MJE Properties

TALO has been awarded its first residential project for MJE Properties. This is a large 5-bedroom house near Grayshott, Surrey which will be built using its timber-framed system to create a highly thermally efficient structure.

As well as accelerating the build programme, the TALO system will enable MJE to deliver an exceptional low energy home, which will exceed Passivhaus energy standards and remove the need for energy bills.

According to Bengt Magnussen, TALO’s Commercial Director, “This project demonstrates really well the design flexibility of our offsite solutions - from large executive homes such as this, to low rise affordable housing and everything in between.”

The new home will feature thermally efficient timber doors and triple glazed windows that will be pre-installed in the TALO factory in Finland to achieve a higher standard of finish.

Commenting on our appointment as MJE's delivery partner, Joss Eynon, Director of MJE Properties said: “The use of the TALO solution is helping us to see beyond the status quo of UK house building.”

The TALO system will ensure the house is completely watertight in only five days, giving MJE more time to focus on the high specification finishes, internally and externally.

Due for completion this autumn, the house will be clad in brickwork and stone to complement the local architecture.

The architects are C7 Architects.

TALO manufactures and installs advanced timber superstructures for housebuilders, developers and housing providers. These solutions combine zero carbon technology with advanced design and offsite manufacturing to transform the delivery of new homes for sale, rent and social housing.
