TALO Builds Five-bed House for
MJE Properties in Just Four Days

TALO has built a five-bedroom house in Grayshott, Surrey in just four days for developer MJE Properties.

Our timber panelised superstructure system created a watertight structure for this residential development with only two operatives and a crane driver, ready for fitting out.

As with every TALO project, this property is built to exceed Passivhaus standards - as standard - which means ZERO energy bills for the homeowners.

According to Bengt Magnussen, TALO’s Commercial Director, “This project demonstrates really well the design flexibility of our offsite solutions. We use the same energy-efficient timber superstructure, whether it is to build a large executive home such as this project in Surrey or terraced housing for social rent."

Due to go on the market before the end of 2024, this new home has thermally efficient timber doors and triple glazed windows. The glazing was pre-installed in the TALO factory in Finland to achieve an even higher standard of finish.

The TALO system ensured the house was completely watertight in only four days, giving MJE more time to focus on the high specification finishes, internally and externally.

Externally, the house will be clad in brickwork and stone to complement the local architecture.

The architects are C7 Architects.

TALO manufactures and installs advanced timber superstructures for housebuilders, developers and housing providers. These solutions combine zero carbon technology with advanced design and offsite manufacturing to transform the delivery of new homes for sale, rent and social housing.
